The Beginning of Thundering in Toronto.....

The founding member spent two years in London from mid 1985 to mid 1987. During this time he was invited to attend a Thunderers' dinner and although he only attended once as a guest, he was determined to start Thundering in Toronto.

The idea of Thundering was presented to a variety of friends and colleagues who in turn were encouraged to suggest others, leading to the first organizational dinner on February 23, 1988 in the Goldwin Smith Room of the National Club.

A second dinner was held on St. Patrick's Day, again at the National and from those two meetings, the organization of Toronto Thundering was completed in time to have the Inaugural Dinner on April 21, 1988 at the National Club with Thor in the chair, a number of London Thunderers in attendance and the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario as guest of honour. The event was a huge success.

Thundering is now well established in Toronto and its membership continues to grow.
